Q: You say, "12.5 years. No matter what." What does "no matter what" mean?
A: Kids cannot be kicked out of the program for any reason, except if they move outside of Shawnee County. The program we're modeling this after has a retention rate of 87%.
Q: Will kids have the same mentor for 12.5 years?
A: The Bridge will commit to each child for 12.5 years. We will ask new employees to commit to at least three years. The average employee sticks around 5-7 years.
The program is designed for each child to have several mentors over the 12.5 years. They will have at least one during elementary school, a second mentor during middle school, and a third during high school. This will help us better meet them where they are developmentally.
Q: What if the person I ask to donate is already a monthly donor? Can they increase their monthly donation?
A: Yes! Just turn in their request to increase their donation to The Bridge office and we will take care of the rest. And we'll make sure you get credit for that increase on your campaign page.
Q: What if a donor wants to write a check?
A: Great! They (or you) can mail it to The Bridge, 1023 SW 8th Ave, 66606. And we'll make sure you get credit on your campaign page.

What is peer-to-peer fundraising?
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a form of crowdfunding, a way for us to raise funds for the important work of mentoring at-risk kids.
Individuals can create personal fundraising pages on behalf of The Bridge. Through our website they share their page with friends, family and community members for donations (hence “peer-to-peer”).
We have signed up for a new website and we're giving it a trial run during the month of December. They specialize in this kind of fundraiser, and they're very helpful, but as you can imagine we have a lot to learn. So we are asking you to help us run an experiment.

1. Talk with your spouse and set a personal fundraising goal: How much do you want to raise? $500? $1,000?
2. Create your own, personalized landing page for the campaign.
4. Point them to your landing page.
5. Thank them personally (by text, email, phone call, or in person).
6. Take notes on your experience and give feedback: Join us on Zoom on January 6 to discuss it as a group .
